Love It!

One of my favorite things about fall/winter are boots and surprise surprise… SWEATERS! I love them all: cardigans, pullovers, tunics, slouchy, etc. One of my favorites is the sweater dress. They are such an easy casual piece to have in your wardrobe. Throw one on with some leggings and boots and you are good to go. They also suit pretty much every body shape. Here is a great one from ASOS .

So cute! I love the zipper detail down the back! There is also this one:

The color blocked shoulders add a modern element to a basic black dress. Paired with the right booties this would be a winner for date night.

Anyone else have a favorite type of sweater?

Crochet Fashion

Crochet fashion is back and super trendy for summer 2014.  Brit + Co just posted a great article called Not Your Grandma’s Crochet, which has some great fashion finds that are super modern and fresh looking.  (Pictures are reposted from the Brit + Co)

Here are some of my favorites:urbanoutfitters1

Looking at all of these beautiful crochet pieces got me itching to make a crochet piece for summer. Maybe a tunic? Or skirt? My only set back is that crochet is not something that I am superb at :(. I would say my knitting skills are advanced, but my crochet skills are remedial. For some reason it is super hard for me to translate those crochet patterns. But as they say:  Practice makes perfect right? I better hit Ravelry and start my search.

Anyone have suggestions for easy crochet patterns for summer?

Finish Projects!

It is so relaxing to have the week off to do what I please. I can catch up on things such as blogging!

Remember that Rainbow Shawl that I started on my camping trip?  Well here is the finished product! I was really excited about how it came out. It is the perfect scarf for living in a windy city.

I also completed a  wrap headband made from a pima cotton blend from Berroco. Due to my relatively new curly hair, headbands and wraps are essential!  This headband is the perfect natural hair solution.

I also crocheted a flower headband and finally got to get some pictures of it action. Crochet is growing on me more. It is a great way to make a project fast.  Wear this piece as a headband, bun adornment, or necklace.  Now available at my Etsy store!
