I discovered a new yarn at Michael’s last week. It is Isaac Mizrahi’s Craft Skyscraper. Mr. Mizrahi really has a hand in everything from fashion to home decor …and now yarn. The yarn is manufactured by Premier Yarns and contains Acrylic, Bamboo, Alpaca, and Wool fibers. I was first attracted to it because of the colors and then there is the softness. Since it was pretty affordable I decided to give it a try. I am making infinity scarf using the seed stitch.
- How the colors flow into each other. Have you ever used variegated yarn that has really abrupt color changes? I really don’t care for that. This yarn has smooth transitions between the 5 colors, which makes it really beautiful.
- Softness: This yarn is super soft to the touch. It feels like baby bunnies.
- The price: One skein is $6.99. If you are beginner or on a budget you can’t beat that!
What I don’t like:
- The shedding: It hasn’t been a serious amount of shedding, but defiantly noticeable. Good thing I have been wearing mainly casual clothes when knitting with this yarn. Hopefully this changes after a wash.
Overall, I would use this yarn again in the future. It is a good value and the colors and material composition are not bad either.
