Hot off the needles! I present to you Nine Dwindling Cables a beret/tam style hat. It has been awhile since I have made anything with cables. This project reminded me of how much I like the challenge of cabling. The trick is to get the tension just right.
The yarn is Cascade 220 Superwash Quatro in Green Tea. I love the color. It just screams summertime. This hat will be a bright addition to my winter wardrobe.
Anyone have a favorite cabling project or technique they use when making cables?
Gorgeous color choice! I have found that I can knit cables much faster without a cable needle, so I pinch the stitches in my fingers instead. My favorite cabled project was an Irish fisherman’s sweater that I designed for my boyfriend with his clan’s traditional cable patterns.
Hmmm I will have to try that. Thanks for the suggestion!
It definitely takes a bit of practice but I am sure you can do it! 🙂
